EIZO presents the RadiForce MX216W, a new 2-megapixel monitor from the affordably priced RadiForce MX-Series. The model is available in two different versions: the MX216-SB with a lower brightness level and the MX216-HB with a higher brightness level. Both are perfect for viewing radiological images and use in dental diagnostics, as they fulfil the requirements of the DIN 6868-157 standard for using radiological image reproduction devices in dental diagnostics. The MX216-SB is suitable for use in reading rooms (room class V), while the MX216-HB is ideal for use in treatment rooms (room class VI). 


The 21.3-inch colour monitors come complete with a DICOM®-GSDF optimal luminance characteristic curve and calibrated with 340 cd/m2 (MX216-HB) or 240 cd/m2 (MX216-SB) brightness. They are also the first models in the MX series that feature the hybrid gamma PXL functionality that automatically differentiates between greyscale and colour images and generates hybrid reproduction, down to the pixel. Every pixel is displayed with the respectively optimal luminance characteristic curve. This ensures the highest levels of precision and reliability if colour and monochrome images are displayed at the same time. This is advantageous if videos or photographs have to be displayed together with X-rays, for example.


In terms of image sharpness, the MX216-HB and MX216-SB stand out due to their functionality featuring Sharpness Recovery technology. This ensures that detailed contours, which are hampered by antireflection technology and image brightness, are readily visible on the screen. As a result, the reproduced image is as clear as possible.

Both screens also feature EIZO’s Point-and-Focus functionality. This allows users to conveniently select and focus on image areas using their mouse or keyboard. By adjusting the brightness and greyscale, they can highlight interesting parts of an image by dimming the surrounding areas, making diagnostics much easier.

The device’s design and technology offer ergonomic comfort as well as one-of-a-kind image precision for use in modern radiology. The MX216-HB and MX216-SB can be operated in portrait and landscape format.


The MX216 offers effortless quality control, as well as precise calibration of white balance and tonal values, with the help of an integrated sensor. This integrated sensor is located beneath the bezel in sleep mode and extends to the display surface when measurements are being performed, without disturbing image reproduction in radiology. The integrated sensor can be used with RadiCS during calibration. It also allows for fully independent, automatic self-calibration. This saves both time and money.


EIZO provides a five-year on-site replacement service, and will begin supplying both models in Europe from May 2019.
